BIOGRAPHY
Monterey J is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in South London, originally from Italy.
His music fuses Jazz, Funk, and elements of World music to create a unique mix of grooves inspired by Miles Davis, The Lounge Lizards, and Astor Piazzolla.
His self-produced debut album The Root was released independently in 2023, whilst his sophomore album "Welcome 2 South London”, an ode to the creative scene of South London, received praise from the most notable national outlets including BBC Radio One, Jazz Fm, and Notion.
Monterey J started 2026 off with a sold-out show at Upstairs Ronnie Scott's in the Jazz heart of London, showcasing new compositions from his upcoming third album.
